Abstract:

Cancer of the urinary bladder is a worldwide prevailing disease. The most common histological type of urinary bladder cancer is urothelial carcinoma (UC). The clear cell variant of urothelial carcinoma (CCUC) is a rare neoplasm.

We present a case repot of a 46 years old male who presented with the complaints of hematuria and burning micturition for the past 1 year. Radiological examination showed irregular thickening involving the right postero-inferior and right lateral wall of urinary bladder. Histopathology showed features of high-grade urothelial carcinoma-clear cell variant along with mixed inflammation and necrosis. On further investigations PAS stain was negative and GATA 3 was positive, further confirming the diagnosis.
